We would like to draw your attention to the possibility of registering in the ELEFAND list (electronic registration of Germans abroad) of the Federal Foreign Office. This possibility exists regardless of whether it is a vacation trip, a business trip or a longer-term stay.

In the event of a crisis or disaster, registration enables the Federal Foreign Office to contact and inform German nationals quickly (e.g. about evacuation measures).A booking option is available in the DVKG / GCS portal.

The travel advice for Egypt issued by the Federal Foreign Office has been amended to the effect that entry with an identity card is not recommended due to repeated problems. Instead, entry with a passport is recommended.

In addition, we would like to inform you that, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation, the previous paper-based entry and exit cards are to be gradually phased out as part of the introduction of a fully digital entry system. As soon as this is implemented, the DVKG / GCS portal will provide a tangibly simple booking option for the Egypt Arrival Card.
