China - Exemption from fingerprinting

The Chinese Embassy has announced that from August 9, 2023 to December 31, 2023 inclusive, fingerprint collection for single and double-entry visas will be waived for the following categories:

  1. Category M (business and assembly visas)
  2. Category Q2 (Family visit)
  3. Category L (tourism visa)
  4. Category G (transit visa)
  5. Category C (crew visa)

UK - Introduction of Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)

The UK is introducing an electronic travel authorization. This will become mandatory as of November 2023. There is to be an exemption for EU citizens up to and including February 2024. DVKG will provide a simple application process timely in advance.

Schengen Visas

The high demand, especially for Schengen Visas, is currently leading to longer waiting and processing times at the German consulate than usual.

Please apply for your visa in time. You can apply six months before your travel date.

Korea, Republic (South): quarantine requirement

The Korean Embassy announced:

from December 3, 2021 - 00:00 to December 16, 2021 (inclusive) 24:00, Korean and foreign nationals entering Korea from another country, regardless of their vaccination status and visa status, will be quarantined for 10 days.

Each person entering Korea will also be required to undergo three polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests:

    Before entering Korea,
    one day after arrival in Korea, and
    Before the end of the 10-day quarantine period.
