UK / Great Britain - Brexit: Visa regulations

Good day, 

The British government has unveiled its future immigration policy:

  • EU citizens currently living and working in the UK and those who come to live and work in the UK before the end of the transitional arrangements in December 2020 will be entitled to permanent resident status. This status must be applied for  
  • .
  • Applicants for a work and residence visa will need to provide evidence of an annual salary of a certain amount. No salary limit is specified in the current draft. In previous government plans, a salary limit of 30,000 pounds is noted. Furthermore, the applicant's qualifications will be decisive for the granting of work and residence visas.
  • Tourists and visitors from the European Union may continue to enter the country without a visa and stay for up to 3 months. After the transition period, an identity card will no longer be sufficient for entry, but a passport will have to be presented.
