The Chinese Consulate informs:

• From March 28, 2020, an entry ban on foreign nationals to mainland China, including those with valid residence permits (see information on the the website of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in English)
• Visas issued before March 28 are therefore invalid until further notice. New visa applications are currently only possible in urgent and justified cases, an official invitation must be submitted, among other things.
• Two-week quarantine in designated facilities in mainland China after arrival from "affected areas" (quarantine regulations vary locally, e.g. in Beijing and Shanghai without restriction to certain countries)
• Preliminary suspension of many international flight connections to and from mainland China
• Inhibitions and increased controls on travel within the country and to/from China

Good afternoon,

We would like to inform you that the People's Republic of China has temporarily suspended the entry of foreigners with valid visas on March 28, 2020. Entries with diplomatic, official, humanitarian or C visas are not affected by this.

Persons who nevertheless need to travel to China for important business, scientific or humanitarian reasons require a newly issued visa. The DVKG can assist you with the application via the Chinese embassy in Berlin.We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

• China: a visa application is currently not possible. All consular providers are currently closed.
• Russia: a visa application is currently not possible. All consular providers are currently closed.
• India: a visa application is currently not possible. All consular providers are currently closed.
• Saudia Arabia: a visa application is currently not possible. All consular providers are b.a.w. closed.
• USA: a visa application is currently not possible.

We will inform you as soon as a visa application is possible again.

All visas for German citizens issued up to and including March 11, 2020 are invalid. Visas of German citizens who have already entered India retain their validity.
